yuguolivecd.jpgYuguo have put a live album up on Douban for free streaming. The album was recorded from the Shanghai leg of their recent national tour supporting the release of their CD Babel. The live recording features a few bonuses such as tracks with guest vocals from Yuyintang founder (and Babel's producer) Zhang Haisheng, Ding Jia of Momo (who also plays guitar) and Bang Bang Tang's Xiao Bai (who plays the harmonica on her track too). The recording won't be released as a CD, but instead will be made available for download next month. For now, you can listen to the tracks by clicking here and you can also vote for your favourite track off Babel in that panel on the right.

Here's what the band have to say about the live recording:

"The band's life lies in live shows and this is the reason we've decided to release a live album. Perhaps you're used to the feelings you get listening to the studio album, whether it's the passionate and powerful vocals or the more low-key singing, but you can't miss the primitive and instinctive feeling of the live show, which produces a different kind of joy and excitement than the CD."
So there you go. A bit more information about the album can be found here (in Chinese) and for some background to the band and the tour check out this link and this one
