Shanghai Music Scene

As you may have noticed, most of the posts here fall into the category Shanghai Music Scene. Here's a brief explanation.

I live in Shanghai. I have lived here since 2001. That's about the same time as the scene in its current incarnation has been around. I have played guitar and been in bands since I was thirteen which is 22 years ago. But ...

... since I have been here I have not bothered to get into a band and am happy just watching. I'm only writing about it because it's the main part of my social life and this is my blog.

Now the 'I's are out of the way.

The scene here is small, everyone knows each other. Writing and websites about it come and go as quickly as the venues so I won't be posting any kind of listings. It's futile. You'll find links and references cropping up in the posts as they're relevant. Just read the blog and get some kind of look into the world of going to a show, in Shanghai.
